Daniel Camargo hails from the Southern part of Brazil, where Nature was still Lush. Yet, the Urban landscape and European Architecture were ever so fondly present in the Megalopolis Capital of Curitiba. As Naturalized American, Daniel’s work evolved to reach his own Style, which he attempts to call, The Comic-Mystic Surrealism. A Blend of Complex in Substance, Designed with Simple Forms. His work invariably unravels itself into both Ends: The Light and the Shadows.
Throughout his Paintings, Sculptures, and Drawings, one can see a constant line of character, and language of genuine sound, portraying from Ancient Entities, to Mysticism, Faith, Dreams, Struggles and Love. The Artist believes each piece long exist before it comes to Light. In his Creative process, listening, tunning in, and seeking the form, plays equal parts in Creating, as if the piece could speak, only hidden under the Vast fabric of Energy that Surrounds the Cosmos.
Much like Hunting or making Fire for the Neanderthals, his work is a direct result of this Primal quest.
Daniel pursued Superior Degrees in Industrial Design (2000) and Printmaking (2004) whilst in Brazil, and pursued the profession of Architecture in the U.S.
Amongst his most influential artists, are the immortals: Hans Ruedi Giger (H.R. Giger), Maurits Cornelis Escher (M.C. Escher), and the genius of Salvador Dali.
